Career Assessments

If you decide to undertake coaching or assessments for career decision or development then it will be necessary to provide other information so that I can obtain reports or feedback from the assessments to fully assist in your decision making.

The type of personal information held and collected might include:

Information that a person seeking career advice provides about his/her own work preferences, behaviors or style. This information is captured by having the person complete either self-assessment questionnaires or the Harrison Assessment Profile that also asks for personal details such as the person’s name: this is a compulsory field to ensure correct identification. Other information requested by the questionnaire is optional: this includes gender, age and ethnic origin.

Contact information that people provide. This often includes telephone numbers, mobile telephone numbers, fax numbers or email addresses and sometimes home addresses.

Why this information is needed

In order to assess the suitability of a person to a job, job type or various jobs using the HA profiling system as the tool for analysis.

In order to conduct performance research into the traits that are likely to predict high performance in a specific job, in a specific organisation.

In order to provide anonymous profiles for statistical research to the developer of the HA profiling system. When backed up for research purposes, the program scrambles the names of the profiles so that they cannot be traced by the researcher. This statistical research ensures that the questionnaire is not biased against any specific age group, ethnic group or gender. It is the reason for asking people to complete the (optional) categories of age, ethnic group and gender on the questionnaire. The developer of the HA profiling system is Omni Human Technologies Ltd, who take all necessary precautions to safeguard the privacy of research information. Their privacy policy is available at the Harrison Assessments website.

In order to maintain contact with our clients and users of our services.

How personal information is stored, transferred and disposed of:

Information provided by a person who completes the HA questionnaire is stored either in hard copy or in data format within our HA software or Internet program. Hard copy information is stored in secure premises and cannot be accessed by unauthorised persons. Software and Internet data is only accessible by authorised personnel using a password.

When information is transferred, this is usually done by email to the profiled person or to the employer/ prospective employer requesting the profiling service. At other times, it may be sent by mail marked “Strictly Private and Confidential” or rarely by fax. In case of fax transmission, information will not be sent without first contacting the person for whom the information is intended to ensure that he/she is waiting to receive it at the fax machine.

Profile data is retained for up to 5 years unless removed at the request of the owner of the profile. When personal information is disposed of it is done so by shredding (hard copy) or by deleting the profile from the software or Internet.

Information related to performance ratings forms part of a person’s profile. It is stored and disposed of in the same way as outlined above.

Personal information is never given to an unintended party without the express permission of the person profiled. It is only given to the intended party. By “intended party” we mean the person who requests the profiling to be undertaken. This could be the person himself/herself, the person’s employer or prospective employer.

All information is kept under secure conditions.
